Hi! I'm Kimberly

BUT MOST PEOPLE CALL ME KIMMIE

I believe the essentials in life include great conversations with friends, wine, golden retriever snuggles, romantic comedies that happen in our real life, fresh flowers always, and a boat ride on the Chris-Craft at sunset.

Mom, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Friend... My most treasured titles and the one's that keep me busy when I'm not shooting weddings with my husband, Andrew. We've been a team since our very first wedding eight years ago, and nothing has stopped us since.

Andrew and I have been passionate about preserving memories and specific moments in time for as long as we've been a couple. Always on the lookout for the special moments that go unseen by everyone else, we've mastered the art of creating beautiful memories for our clients. We stand back to help timelessly, and beautifully capture the moments that you are busy experiencing.

Our approach to capturing your wedding day begins with you. It is an absolute honor to be invited into your wedding day, because that means getting to know you and what matters the most to you.

FROM PAST WEDDING CLIENTS

Kimmie photographed our wedding in Charleston, South Carolina during a very difficult time for my family. We had lost my dad just several months prior to the wedding day, so we were feeling all sorts of emotions that weekend. Kimmie floated in and, without skipping a beat, put everyone at ease. She is such a kind, caring person, and she made everyone feel so incredibly comfortable. Most importantly, she captured some very special moments between me, my husband, and my family. Her photographs are natural and authentic, and they perfectly capture the unbridled joy and love you experience at a wedding. She also took some amazing shots of the scenery and venue. We had a somewhat unconventional, rustic lowcountry wedding, and she captured the ambiance so vividly that we re-live the wedding every time we look at her pictures! In terms of quality, Kimmie is absolutely outstanding. When we first showed family and friends the pictures, they all said the same thing: "these look like they came from a magazine!" I cannot say enough good things about Kimmie - as a person, and as a photographer. She is hands down the best decision we made with respect to our wedding.

Her style of photography is beautiful and she is even better to work with. I had her pose as a magazine photographer during our proposal (Acting Skills: A+), then she traveled to New York City for our engagement session, then when I asked last minute if she could be there for the rehearsal dinner, her answer was OF COURSE, and then finally our wedding day. Kimmie is so talented and has such a great eye for details. She knows exactly how to instruct you to pose to get all the photos you dreamed of.

One thing during wedding planning I didn’t realize is how much time you spend with your photographer on the day of your wedding. Kimmie and her husband Andrew were the perfect people to spend our day with. They went above and beyond to not just make sure we got every photo we wanted, but that we had the BEST day. Emma had a problem with her bouquet and Kimmie stepped right in and made sure it was exactly what Emma was looking for. We could not have been happier to have Kimmie there with us for every step from proposal to “I do.”

I could not recommend working with her more! The hardest part about working with Kimmie is that once the wedding is over you will miss working with her! Luckily she does portrait sessions and you will be able to keep up with her life through Instagram :).

Kimmie and her husband Andrew shot our wedding in Orange, VA in October 2018. Kimmie was one of the first vendors we booked, and we could not have been more happy with our decision! She was attentive, responsive, thoughtful, and went above and beyond more than once (everything from helping me with my wedding timeline to texting re: weather options the week before the wedding).

As anyone will tell you, your photographer is someone that you will spend a lot of time with on your wedding day itself. If you're looking for someone positive, fun, and comfortable, pick Kimmie. She took the time to understand family dynamics, get to know the names of my bridesmaids, and was there to help with anything that I needed. So above and beyond! After our ceremony, we wanted to take photos up on a hill. We were waiting too long for a golf cart, so Kimmie and Andrew drove us in their own car!

Of course, though, what it all comes down to is the photos. We received our photos just two short weeks after the wedding, and we could not have been happier! We've received so many compliments from our family and friends as to how nicely the pictures turned out and how well Kimmie captured the day.

the process

FROM PAST WEDDING COUPLES

From the moment you and I decide to work together, my mission is to get to know you, and what matters most to you, so that I can truly serve you and your families on the biggest day of your life. I work best when I can see the day through your eyes... seeing what you see, placing value on what you are placing value on, and then delivering a final gallery that is full of images that feel and look like you!

Throughout our time working together, whether that be 60 days leading up to your elopement or micro-wedding, or a full year of planning, I am committed to getting to know you. We will plan check-in phone calls, and you will fill out a questionnaire before the wedding day. The questionnaire includes specific details about groupings for photos and all the sentimental details you will include. It will be followed up by a final phone call with you and your wedding planner to go over the specific details of your timeline.

In eight years of photographing weddings, I have learned quite a bit about what a smooth day looks like. I've witnessed the "do's", the "don'ts", and the "that is totally up to you" calls. We often find ourselves in unplanned circumstances often and consider ourselves masters of flexibility.

I am here to guide you based on my expertise, help you make informed decisions, and serve you as you plan the wedding of your dreams!

Do you and your husband shoot together?

Yes. We shoot all of our weddings together, with the exception of elopements & micro-weddings. He spends a majority of his time focused on the Groom, and I spend my time with the Bride. He's the one making you laugh, and I'm the one keeping us on track with your timeline.

faq

How long until I get my wedding photos back?

Because we shoot digitally, we can start working on your images right away. You can expect your photos back within 4 weeks of your wedding day.

faq

What's the style of your photography?

I highly value those in-between, candid moments. The one's that happen between the posing that takes place. The style of my work is classic with a photo-journalistic bent. I love formal portraits, as much as I love the emotions captured during a candid photo.

faq

What sets you apart from other photographers?

My warmth, and how conversational I am while taking your photos. While some photographers are more focused on static posing, having their clients standing still and motionless, I’m much more interested in capturing the in-between moments of laughter and warmth in your relationship.

faq

Do you travel for engagement sessions and/or or weddings?

Absolutely. I have traveled up and down the East Coast for both weddings and engagement sessions. Travel fees may apply.
